SSAS Tabular Workshop

The 2-day workshop covers the Tabular modeling in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services 2012.

No knowledge of previous versions of Analysis Services and Unified Dimensional Model (UDM) is required, because Tabular is based on different concepts and on the new DAX language.

You will learn the differences between the two modeling options in Analysis Services 2012 (Tabular and Multidimensional) and when to choose one over the other. After the training, you will be able to create a SSAS Tabular model in Visual Studio, including basic DAX expressions.

You will also learn how to deploy, manage, query, monitor and optimize a Tabular model in a production environment with the guidance of our experienced SSAS Maestro trainers.

The course is based on the upcoming book about SSAS Tabular, authored by our trainers.

DAX Advanced Workshop

This course is targeted to Business Intelligence professionals who already have a basic experience with PowerPivot and want to learn all about DAX, the expression and query language of SSAS Tabular.

The course covers all of the aspects of the language, starting from the basic concepts and going through the most complicated aspects of evaluation context interactions, exploiting the full power of DAX. The focus of the course is not on PowerPivot or SSAS Tabular functionality but only on the DAX language.
