• Power BI Desktop June 2018 update
The new Power BI Desktop version has a long-awaited feature: filtering and sorting tables in data view is now possible, as it was always available in Power Pivot and SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT). Other minor updates are related to data connectivity and visuals that you shouldn’t use (pie and donut charts). But one good new feature is enough. Now waiting for big news in July. Read more »

• New memory options for Analysis Services
Azure Analysis Services and the latest update of Analysis Services 2017 (CU7) introduced the property IsAvailableInMdx that can save a lot of RAM for large Tabular models. Currently the property cannot be edited with SSDT but only with TMSL and TOM, officially. Or you should do like any professional SSAS developer: move to Tabular Editor and use this property like any other one. More details in a future article on SQLBI. Read more »
