• Using the XMLA read/write endpoint without Premium
You can use XMLA read/write endpoint with Power BI without Premium by enabling an Embedded capacity just for the time you need to edit a model. It is not free, but it is very affordable since you just pay for the time spent editing the model. Moreover, many companies have free Azure credits. You cannot download a PBIX file for a model modified this way, regardless of whether you are using Premium or Embedded. Shout out to Just for this useful article!
