SQL Server update and Power BI Q&A

• Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017
The Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017 is now available. Please be aware that Cumulative Updates are the new Service Packs, so you should install them. There are several fixes for Analysis Services too. There is only one issue: the build number you will see in SQL Server Management Studio connecting to Analysis Services is the same (14.0.1.439) for both SSAS 2017 RTM and SSAS 2017 CU1. It’s a minor bug for us, a major headache for Microsoft support, which will need the file version number to understand the exact build running. Clearly this will be fixed in the next Cumulative Update. Read more »
