• Custom visuals store integrated in Power BI Desktop
The July 2017 release of Power BI Desktop includes many new features, as usual. The most important one for custom visuals is the integration of the store: you can browse the visuals from Power BI Desktop and install them directly, without having to download the file from a web browser first. The classification and search functions should be enhanced, but this is a huge usability improvement. Read more »
 • New on-premises data gateway for Power BI
If you use the on-premises data gateway for Power BI in personal mode, you should update it within the end of July. If you have an older version of the gateway, it will stop working in August. This is not an automatic upgrade for the personal mode, and you might have to enter the data source credentials again. Thus, don't wait the last minute and upgrade your personal gateway! Read more »
